How do i format floppy disk in dos 5.07/30/2023 Is that fatal to your business? If the answer is yes then as a business owner, you are being negligent to stakeholders. ![]() In these sorts of situations I always ask the business owner what would happen if this thing that runs on DOS / Win3.1 / WinXP ( or whatever old OS ) suddenly stops working - period. If the original vendor simply doesn't exist, then the end user needs to plan to replace the 6 or 7 figure machine with something supported from a vendor not stuck in the 90's. Tough - that's the cost of doing business. AND why does the vendor not do anything to modernize the product they sold your company in the 90's? Oh because it would cost too much, or it would require programming effort. Why do business owners not get the very simple concept that at some point, you are not going to be able to get DOS 5 running in a manner that will be acceptable to the machine that requires it. Why do business owners not understand that this is not sustainable. I blame the vendor / manufacturer of the "thing" that requires DOS 5 to be productive. ![]() And really its (A) not that uncommon and (B) not your fault. I understand you are just trying to do the best you can with this DOS 5 requirement and I assume that the "thing" that would cost 6 or 7 figures to replace is something industrial related but I can't help but shake my head at this situation.
